Coordinator for the Faculty Liberal Arts & Sciences Colloquium
Pictured at right: Dr. Bodek at the steps of the Soviet War Memorial in Treptower Park, bordering the Spree River just south of central Berlin. The monument is a tribute to the fallen soliders in the 1945 Battle of Berlin. Pictured below is a photo of the local flavor -- literally -- and one of Dr. Bodek's favorite doorway in Berlin. "It screams 'Berlin Hipster Neighborhood in Transition'," he says about the alternative city district.
Richard Bodek, professor of history and coordinator for the Faculty Liberal Arts and Sciences Colloquium traveled to Germany in summer 2013 as part of the Fulbright German Studies Seminar. This is the second time Bodek was selected to participate in the program. In 1996 he received a Fulbright Fellowship to attend the German Studies Seminar "Germany and Jewish Studies Today".
