Charleston, South Carolina
College of Charleston
Associate Professor of Geology and Environmental Geosciences
Ph.D. University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware

Scott’s geological interests focus on modern and ancient shorelines, their response to sea level rise, and the preservation of the remnant geological layers on modern continental shelves and adjacent coastal plains. Utilizing different geophysical and direct measurement techniques, he spends a lot of time on boats and on land collecting information that often helps inform archaeologists about site-formation processes and paleolandscapes. He will be affiliated with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, working closely with Dr. Niki Evelpidou on submerged shorelines and developing paleolandscape reconstructions throughout the Holocene.
