Responsible Conduct of Research
What is RCR?
The term "RCR" may also be used in a wider sense, to include all possible aspects of individual character and behavior that impact research. In this case, the term "scientific integrity" may be used as well, though this latter term can refer not just to the character or behavior of the researcher, but to the reliability of the product of research itself (council of Graduate Schools, 2006, p. ix).
Research ethics are large component of students' work at the College of Charleston, regardless of the field of study. Students are encouraged to work with Eileen Callahan to ensure their research is compliant with ethical regulations as outlined by organizations such as IACUC, IRB, and the IBC. For more information regarding research integrity, visit the Office of Research and Grants Administration.
