Fall 2021 Graduation

The Application

Graduation applications are due October 15 and must be completed online via MyCharleston

  • Log in to MyCharleston
  • Click on the Academic Services tab
  • Click on the Banner Self Service Link
  • Click on 'Student' and then 'Student Records'
  • Click on 'Apply to Graduate'

After you submit your application, your eBill account will show a graduation fee of $25 for each degree and/or certificate you plan to earn.  This fee must be paid prior to the degree conferral date.

Students who miss the deadline will have to pay an additional $25 (for a total of $50) and they must apply in person at the Graduate School.

In order to be eligible for fall graduation, you must be enrolled in at least one credit hour during the fall term.

The conferral date for fall graduates is December 18, 2021.

The Ceremony

Saturday, December 18 at 2pm in TD Arena


Students are eligible to receive 10 tickets.   

Each student who elected to participate in the ceremony must complete the participation survey that was distributed to their student email account by the Commencement Committee. The survey will close on December 10 at noon.

Diploma Information

Diplomas and graduate certificates will be ordered for students who graduate successfully in the term in which they apply.  Diplomas and graduate certificates are printed with the full legal name as it is on record at the College.  Diplomas and graduate certificates are mailed within 3-4 weeks of the conferral date.  Diplomas will not be released for the following reasons:

  • Account balance - check your eBill
  • Account hold - check MyCharleston
  • Incomplete Financial Aid Exit Interview - contact Financial Aid
  • Missing final report for travel or research funding received from the Graduate School

Note: The Graduate School cannot store diplomas for students with unresolved holds.  Students who do not resolve holds within 30 days of notification will be required to pay for a replacement diploma if/when the hold is resolved.
