Visits and Tours
Graduate tours can be scheduled by emailing gradstud@cofc.edu.
The Graduate School's tour is led by graduate students for graduate students. Join a current student for a personalized guided tour of our award-winning historic campus. On your tour, prospective students and guests will learn the general history of the College, see main buildings and features of campus, as well as graduate student-specific information not covered on an undergraduate tour.
Graduate tours typically last between 45 minutes and 1 hour, covering the main Downtown campus. This includes place like historic Randolph Hall, Addlestone Library, Stern Student Center, and the Bookstore. Tours can be scheduled during business hours Monday through Friday. It is also recommended prospective students schedule time to meet with the Program Director for their program(s) of interest while they are on campus. The Graduate School can assist prospective students with this task.
Other campus highlights to visit while you’re in town include:
- Grice Marine Laboratory – Home to our M.S. in Marine Biology program. Located at Fort Johnson on James Island, this waterfront property boasts incredible views of the Charleston Harbor, Ravenell Bridge, and Charleston city skyline.
- Harbor Walk East – Located about a 20 minute walk from the main campus, Harbor Walk is home to our M.S. in Computer and Information Sciences and M.S. in Data Science and Analytics programs. This tech-lover’s dream has a motion-capture studio, 3-D printer, VR gaming, and state-of-the-art computers.
- Stono Preserve – A true gem of the Lowcountry, Stono Preserve houses the Sustainable Agriculture program as well as the Student Garden. Run and maintained by graduate students, the Student Garden produces produce for those in need in the Lowcountry community, including the rescue turtles at the South Carolina Aquarium. Environmental & Sustainability Studies student will find great learning experiences at Stono Preserve!
